Package One | Six-Night Beijing Deluxe Package: May 13 - 19, 2020​​​​

Wednesday, May 13 - Arrive at Beijing International Airport (PEK) and transfer to The Regent Beijing. This evening enjoy a welcome cocktail reception.

Thursday, May 14 - Following breakfast, we will travel to the Great Wall for a mandatory inspection of the on-Wall route. Both runners and spectators will visit the Great Wall and receive race details. All runners must walk the 3.5 km of the wall, which is part of the Great Wall Marathon course.  It is very important to familiarize yourself with that specific section in order to take proper precautions and incorporate it into your race strategy. Non-runners are also welcome to participate in this walk (good physical condition is required for this strenuous walk). (breakfast and lunch included)

Friday, May 15​ - This morning you will enjoy a behind-the-scenes view of Hutong, the old city of Beijing. You will travel the ancient alleyways via three-wheeled bicycle rickshaws. We then travel to the Summer Palace for a tour of the man-made lake followed by lunch. We will return to the hotel early enough to allow you rest time before race day.  Tonight we will gather at the hotel for a pre-race pasta dinner. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Saturday, May 16 - RACE DAY.  It will be an early morning departure for the Great Wall Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 8.5K fun run.  A boxed breakfast will be provided upon departure and a lunch from Subway is available after the race.  You will also have the opportunity to get at a massage! Tonight, enjoy dinner on your own. (breakfast and lunch included)

Sunday, May 17 - After breakfast we start the day by coach bus to Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world. We will walk through the square from the south to the north, passing Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum.  Next is the Imperial Palace and the Forbidden City, one of China's architectural masterpieces.  This was forbidden to the common people until the early 1900's. Lunch will follow before returning to the hotel to get ready for the Gala Dinner. (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included)

Monday, May 18​ - After breakfast we will visit the Temple of Heaven, a tea house, and Lama Temple with lunch enjoyed at a local restaurant.  We return back to the hotel briefly before departing for the Peking Duck dinner and Chinese acrobat show. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Tuesday, May 19​ - After breakfast we will check out of The Regent Beijing and transfer to the Beijing Airport. There will be several scheduled transfers back to the airport starting at 7:00 AM and concluding at 3:00 PM.  You may also elect to extend your time in China by joining one of our optional post-marathon extension packages. . (breakfast included)

Package Two | Six-Night Beijing Budget​: May 12 - 18, 2020

Tuesday, May 12​ - Arrive to Beijing Capital (PEK) or Beijing Daxing (PKX) airport.  Transfer buses are available throughout the day and leave for the city with 30-45 minute intervals.  Look for the "Great Wall Marathon" sign in the arrivals hall and our representatives will show you to the bus.  Upon arrival at the hotel, check the hotel notice board for your tour guide’s name and phone number.  Information packets will be handed out by the guide either today or tomorrow at the Great Wall inspection.  The rest of the day is free to explore Beijing. No meals are included today.

Wednesday, May 13 – A visit to Beijing is not complete without seeing the city's three most famous landmarks.  The first stop of the day is Tiananmen Square from where we continue to the Forbidden City.  Lunch will be a delicious local specialty – Beijing roasted duck. Following lunch the sight-seeing will continue with the beautiful Temple of Heaven and the Silk Exhibition Hall where you can purchase a large variety of silk products.  This evening is an optional spectacular acrobatics show that won't disappoint. (Cost is an additional US$35 per person and must be pre-booked.)  (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Thursday, May 14​ - Early this morning we will depart to the Great Wall for a mandatory inspection of the on-Wall route. Race officials and medical staff will be present to answer any questions you have have.  The drive time is an estimated 2.5 hours and a box breakfast will be provided.  All runners must walk the 3.5 km of the wall, which is part of the Great Wall Marathon course.  It is very important to familiarize yourself with that specific section in order to take proper precautions and incorporate it into your race strategy. Non-runners are also welcome to participate in this walk (good physical condition is required for this strenuous walk). We will return to Beijing around 5:00 PM.  The rest of the evening is free to enjoy at your leisure. (breakfast box and sandwich lunch included)

Friday, May 15 -  Today is yours to enjoy in Beijing. As options you can plan to shop, enjoy one of Beijing's many parks, find a nearby spa or simply relax in your hotel room. You also have the choice of joining the optional excursion to the Ming Tombs. This excursion departs in the morning to head for the Ming Tombs in a valley south of the Tianshou Mountain, about 50 KM west of Beijing. Thirteen out of the 16 Ming emperors were buried in this peaceful valley. This optional tour also includes lunch.   (breakfast included)

Saturday, May 16 - Today is the big day! Breakfast boxes will be handed out before we leave for Huangyaguan at 3.30am. The race starts at 7:30am. Sandwich lunches will be provided for everyone after the race as well as a 15-minute massage. Buses will take runners back to Beijing between 12:00 PM and 4:30 PM. Enjoy the evening on your own.  (boxed breakfast and sandwich lunch included)

Sunday, May 17​ – Today is your recovery day!  Sleep-in, relax or do a bit of shopping in the Silk Alley. Perhaps join one of two optional excursions (must be booked in advance): City of People Tour ($65 per person and includes lunch) includes a visit the Beijing Zoo (giant panda exhibit only), Summer Palace and Pearl Exhibition Hall; or the City of Emperors Tour ($70 per person and includes lunch), which will showcase classic Beijing highlights. In the evening, all participants will be picked up at their hotels and taken to the Gala Dinner venue.  (breakfast and dinner included)

Monday, May 18​ - Depending on your departure time, you might be able to do some last-minute shopping or take in more of Beijing's sights. Hotel check-out is before noon. Please note that the departure transfer is not included in the package but can be pre-booked at an extra cost. (breakfast included)

Package Three​ | Five-Night Beijing Budget: May 13 - 18, 2020​

Wednesday, May 13​ - Arrival into Beijing Capital (PEK) or Beijing Daxing (PKX) airport. Shuttle buses will run at set interval times (7:00, 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00, 21:00 and 23:00) If you are unable to book a flight that matches the set transfers, or do not want to wait for up to 2 hours, individual transfers can be purchased. Upon arrival at the hotel in Jixian, check the hotel notice board for your tour guide’s name and phone number.  Information packets will be handed out by the guide.  The rest of the day is free to explore Beijing. 

Thursday, May 14 – Check out and be ready for an early departure (6:45 AM) to the Great Wall for a mandatory inspection of the on-Wall route. Both runners and spectators will visit the Great Wall and receive race details. All runners must walk the 3.5 km of the wall, which is part of the Great Wall Marathon course.  It is very important to familiarize yourself with that specific section in order to take proper precautions and incorporate it into your race strategy. Non-runners are also welcome to participate in this walk (good physical condition is required for this strenuous walk).  After a sandwich lunch we will proceed to Jixian to check into the hotel.  Expect around a 45 minute drive.  The afternoon is free to explore the town.  The group will reconvene for dinner.  (boxed breakfast and lunch included)

Friday, May 15 – Today is a perfect day to relax before the race.  You can enjoy the local atmosphere or book an optional Rural China tour ($95 per person and includes lunch), which takes you on an excursion to an outdoor market and a visit to the Qing Dynasty Tombs.  Tonight we will gather at the hotel for a pre-race dinner. (breakfast and dinner included)

Saturday, May 16 - RACE DAY.  It will be an early morning departure for the Great Wall Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 8.5K fun run.   Please be sure to check-out of your room before boarding the bus at 5:00 AM.  A boxed breakfast will be provided upon departure and a sandwich lunch is available after the race as well as a 20-minute massage!  Buses will take runners back to Beijing between 12:00 PM and 4:30 PM.  Tonight, enjoy dinner on your own. (breakfast and lunch included)

Sunday, May 17​ – Today is your recovery day!  Sleep-in, relax or do a bit of shopping in the Silk Alley. Two optional excursions are available: Beijing Highlights with the City of Emperors Tour ($70 per person) that includes Tiananmen Square/Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven OR visit the Beijing Zoo (giant panda exhibit only) and Summer Palace outside of Beijing with the City of People Tour ($65 per person). In the evening, all participants will be picked up at their hotels and taken to the Gala Dinner venue.  (breakfast and dinner included)

Monday, May 18​ – Enjoy a leisure morning before transferring on your own to the airport for your return flight home.  Check-out is before 12:00 noon. Please note that the departure transfer is not included in the package but can be pre-booked at an extra cost of $50. (breakfast included)
