Sydney Tour | Five Night Package: Wednesday, September 14 – Monday, September 19, 2022
Wednesday, September 14 – Arrive in Sydney and transfer on your own to the Sydney Harbour Marriott at Circular Quay. This evening Marathon Tours & Travel will host a welcome reception and briefing where you will be able to meet fellow travelers and ask questions about the weekend. Following the reception we recommend you enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants along Sydney Harbour.
Thursday, September 15 – After breakfast the group will depart on an unforgettable panoramic Sydney half-day sightseeing tour. On the tour you will visit the historic Rocks area, enjoy magnificent views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and visit Bondi Beach. We will end at the Sydney Opera House for a guided tour followed by lunch. You will have the remainder of the day to enjoy the ASICS Event Expo and / or explore the city at your leisure.
Mid-afternoon you can also join us for the Sydney BridgeClimb, one of the most iconic things to do while in Sydney. We highly recommend it and have tentatively booked space for 10 people to experience the twilight climb on starting between 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM. At a leisurely pace the BridgeClimb takes three (3) hours and we will be finished between 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM. The cost is be $289.00 USD per person. Friday, September 16 – Choose between a full-day tour to the Blue Mountains (#1), a day of wine tastings in the famous Hunter Valley wine region (#2), or explore Sydney on your own (#3).
#1 Blue Mountains with Self-Guided Hike | $185 per person | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
The Blue Mountains National Park is one of the seven national parks that make up the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. This wonderful sandstone outcrops, deep ravines and hazy blue eucalypt forests boasts luxury retreats and stunning views. Your guide will take you off the beaten track to visit remote lookout locations and discuss the history, flora and fauna of this magnificent region. A highlight today will be a 1 ½ to 2 hour hike along the top of the Grouse Valley – it provides an exhilarating walk while seeing wildlife such as the elusive Lyre Bird. We’ll stop and enjoy a picnic style lunch while looking over one of the world class views this walk provides. (breakfast and lunch included)
#2 Wine Tastings in the Hunter Valley | $205 per person | 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
180 years young, the Hunter Valley, is Australia’s oldest and best known wine region and is soaked with history. It’s a dynamic and fascinating area that brims with over 150 top class wineries, 65 indulgent restaurants as well as gourmet produce and boutique breweries. Today you will enjoy three tastings at local vineyards, lunch and a chocolate pairing. (breakfast and lunch included)
#3 Explore Sydney on your own. The ASICS Event Expo hours today are 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. (breakfast included)
Saturday, September 17 – You will have today to enjoy the sights of Sydney at your leisure. You can relax at one of the famous beaches, visit the Taronga Zoo to see the koalas or head to the ASICS Event Expo for last minute race gear purchases. Tonight an exclusive pre-race dinner will be included at the hotel or a nearby restaurant. (breakfast and dinner included)
Sunday, September 18 - RACE DAY! Exclusive transportation will be provided to the start of the marathon and half-marathon. After you finish you will walk back to the hotel on your own. Your hotel is located 0.7 miles from the finish line. Enjoy the afternoon on your own before we gather for a post-race reception to celebrate your accomplishment! (breakfast included)
Monday, September 19 – Enjoy the day at your leisure before transferring on your own to the airport for your flight home. (breakfast included)
