Friday, August 6 – Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel. Since most flights arrive in the evening no activities are planned for today.
Saturday, August 7 – After a leisure breakfast we will depart for a guided tour of the Karen Blixen Museum followed by a relaxing lunch outdoors at the Tamambo Restaurant. Each guest will be responsible for their own meal and beverages. This evening we will gather for a casual non-hosted drink in the lobby bar. Enjoy dinner at one of the several hotel restaurants. (breakfast included)
Sunday, August 8 - We will have an early morning transfer via coach for our three-hour road trip to the Aberdare National Park where we will spend the next three nights. On the way we will stop at a curio shop, which we have frequented for many years. Upon arriving at the Aberdare Country Club, guests will check-in and enjoy a late buffet lunch. Once you are settled in, we will depart for the ARK Lodge for overnight accommodations with a short game drive in route. At the ARK, you will enjoy the solitude of the bush as you view elephants, hyena, water buffalo and more at their famous watering hole. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Monday, August 9 - After breakfast, we will depart the ARK for a game drive through Aberdare National Park. We will return to Aberdare Country Club, home for the next two nights, for a late lunch and a leisure afternoon. At the end of the day, we will meet at the on-site restaurant for dinner. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Tuesday, August 10 - Today is yours to enjoy with a few optional activities. All are welcome to participate in a morning or afternoon guided bush walk or run. You will run/walk among giraffe, impala, zebra and other wildlife within the conservancy. In addition, if you wish, today you can opt for a game drive through Solio Ranch known for its rhino conservation. This game drive is optional and is in addition to your package price. All meals are served at Aberdare Country Club. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Wednesday, August 11 - Following breakfast we will depart for our three hour drive to Sweetwaters Serena Camp in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy (a 90 acre reserve that has the densest concentration of animals in Kenya) for our four night stay. After a stop at the equator for photos, we arrive in time for a late lunch with a leisure afternoon and evening. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Thursday, August 12 - Following breakfast, we will depart for an early morning game drive in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and return back to Sweetwaters in time for lunch. Following lunch we will depart for an afternoon game drive with a stop at the Chimpanzee Sanctuary - the only place in Kenya to view this highly intelligent and endangered species. Before returning to Sweetwaters, we will enjoy a sundowner at Morani's. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Friday, August 13 - Today we will begin with a morning game drive followed by lunch at Sweetwaters. This afternoon we hope to meet with the Amazing Girls (details will be shared when confirmed). Prior to dinner will be the race briefing. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Saturday, August 14 - RACE DAY! The Amazing Maasai Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Quarter Marathon start at 7:00am. About 400 runners (approx. 90% are Kenyan) will participate in these events. Plan for an early breakfast and then a jeep ride to the race start (approx. one hour). All participants are encouraged to bring snacks/beverages with them that morning. Although ample water is available on the course, there are not refreshments following the race. Tonight, we will celebrate your finish at Sweetwaters. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Sunday, August 15 - After breakfast fly to the Mara to experience Kenya's best safari adventure - the 'Great Migration' or continue to Nairobi Airport for your international flight home. (breakfast included)
