2017 Itinerary

Tuesday, March 6 – Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) and transfer to the Renaissance Tel Aviv Hotel or the Royal Beach Tel Aviv.  The rest of the day is yours to enjoy until the group welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (Dinner Included)

Wednesday, March 7 – Today will be spent exploring Tel Aviv.  Our guided tour will begin in Rabin Square and continue to Old Jaffa, one of the oldest port cities in the world where we will visit the ancient ruins and walk along the Artist's Quarter.  The next stop is Neve Tzedek, the first neighborhood of Tel Aviv, built in 1887 and Nahalat Benyamin, the pedestrian mall of the city with a stop at Sheinkin, the lively and colorful street known for its unique shops, café life and youthful ambiance.  After lunch and some free time, we will make our way to Jerusalem and check-in at the Crowne Plaza Jerusalem or the Orient Jerusalem Hotel.  You are free to enjoy dinner on your own this evening. (Breakfast included)

Thursday, March 8 -  Today will be a tour of the Old City and the New City.  We will drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city, visit the Tomb of King David and the Room of Last Supper on Mt. Zion. Upon entering the walled city, we will visit the Roman Cardo and the famous Western Wall .  Next we will walk along the via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.  Following the tour, we will make our way to the EXPO for your BIB and race packet.  Immediately following will be a buffet pasta dinner, which is organized by the race and will be served at the expo venue.  This is included with a marathon entry. Those not running the marathon can select to join the pasta dinner for $15 USD per person.  We will reserve all dinner tickets in advance.  The group will be transferred back to their respective hotel following dinner. (Breakfast included.  Pasta dinner included with marathon entry and additional for all others.)

Friday, March 9 – Race Day! Breakfast will be available early.  If staying at the Crowne Plaza, the group will meet in the hotel lobby to walk to the race start together.  Those at the Orient Jerusalem will meet in the lobby and transfer by coach bus to the start.   After your race, enjoy the family festival at Sacher Park and return to the Crowne Plaza at your leisure.  A time will be provided for those returning to the Orient Jerusalem.   Tonight we will gather for a celebration dinner at a local restaurant. (Breakfast and Celebration Dinner included)

Saturday, March 10 - Today is a full-day excursion to the ancient ruins of Masada and the Dead Sea. Be sure to bring your bathing suit, towel, sunscreen and water shoes so you can experience floating in the Dead Sea!  Lunch will be available for purchase at the Masada Café.  Upon returning to Jerusalem enjoy your final dinner in the city at one of the many local restaurants. (Breakfast included)

Sunday, March 11 - After breakfast, we will visit the Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust and continue to the Machne Yehuda Market for a unique sampling of various foods.  We will depart Jerusalem in the late afternoon and make our way to Tel Aviv.  Tonight, you can enjoy one of the many local restaurants in close proximity to your hotel. (Breakfast and food sampling included) 

Monday, March 12 – Plan to participate in one of two optional day tours to Galilee or transfer to the airport for your return flight home. For those that plan to stay in Tel Aviv, the evening is free to enjoy one of the many local restaurants. (Breakfast included)

Tuesday, March 13 – Departures today.  Depending on your international flight home you can elect to enjoy the day on your own exploring or participate in a day tour. (Breakfast included)
