Event Information Date: April 5, 2009
Course: The almost loop course starts on the Champs Elysees and
runs down past the Place de la Concorde. Several miles are run in the Bois be Bologne,
then along the Seine, past the Eiffel Tower and the Left Bank with the finish on Avenue Foch.
It is mostly flat and considered quite fast.
Weather: Average temperatures range between 50F-65F. Ideal conditions for running.
Entry: The event is
limited to 35,000 runners and closed about November 18th, 2007 for the 2008 event.This year it is expected to close earlier.
2009 entry will be available on the parismarathon.com website. Marathon Tours will have guaranteed entries after they close, but
online entry is less expensive than the guaranteed entry.
All runners must send a letter from a doctor attesting that they are healthy
enough to run a marathon. This is required by French law.
Eligibility: All runners must enter 18 years of age.
Awards: Every runner finishing under 5:20 receives a medal.
