Itinerary
Wed., Sept. 3 - Depart U.S. for overnight flights to Bordeaux. Thu., Sept. 4 - Arrive Bordeaux transfer to the Chateaux Chartrons for five nights in Bordeaux. Welcome reception, dinner and briefing. Fri., Sept. 5 - Morning trip by coach to visit chateaux for wine tastings and cellar tours at such famous vineyards as Chateau D'Alesmes, Chateau Lynch-Bages, Pichon Longuevielle or other classified chateaux. Lunch at Chateau Aney. Number pickup and pre-race dinner and party. Sat., Sept. 6 - Race Day! Transfer to start of Le Marathon des Chateaux du Medoc starting at 9:30am. Don't forget to wear an outrageous costume (95% of the runners do!). Transfer back to hotel in late afternoon. Dinner on your own. Sun., Sept. 7 - Transfer to the north for 9K recuperation walk with wine tastings at chateaux. A variety of bands and food tastings entertain you. Lunch and celebration with live entertainment. Return in late afternoon to Bordeaux. Dinner on your own. Mon., Sept. 8 - Morning visit to Sainte Emilion for a chateaux visit at Chateaux Haut Sarpe. We have a personal contact here in one of the village's best wine shops where you can enjoy a variety of tastings and the opportunity to purchase wine by the bottle or case. Afternoon free to explore this 11th century town, often referred to as the most beautiful in France. Gala Baquet for a 5-star dinner with the best wines from Chateaux Bouscaut. Tue., Sept. 9 - Transfers to airport for returns flights or commencement of extended stays as individually requested.
