Bermuda Marathon Weekend

JANUARY 16-18, 2015

CAN YOU SURVIVE THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE CHALLENGE?

3 Races  -  3 Days  -  4 Medals

We are very excited about our 36th trip to the Bermuda Marathon Weekend. We hope that many of you can  escape your winter training grounds to enjoy the island charm of this British colony. You have your choice of the marathon, half-marathon on Sunday or the 10K on Saturday.

Or you can participate in the 8th Bermuda Triangle Challenge. Run the KPMG Bermuda Invitational Mile on Friday evening, the 10K on Saturday and the full or half-marathon on Sunday. "Survivors" receive a special T-shirt and medal in addition to their three finisher's medals from the events. You will also be invited to a welcome reception on Thursday evening with complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres. (Medal and gate photos courtesy of Laura Yasso.)

The trip always falls on the Martin Luther King weekend which for many constitutes a Monday holiday. This is a perfect  getaway weekend after the hectic holiday season and a welcome break for warm weather training away from wintertime ice and snow.

The Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, race headquarters, will be hosting individuals and their friends and families to a fantastic mid-winter getaway. Marathon Tour's package includes a welcome cocktail reception on Thursday evening if you arrive for the four-night package.

With only six flights per day departing from the U.S. for Bermuda during January, seats get heavily booked quite early so plan accordingly. You should be aware that all visitors are now required to show a passport for entry to Bermuda.

Over 70% of the visitors traditionally stay four nights or more. Many take an entire week to enjoy the mild weather in the 60s and low 70s, perfect for running, tennis or golf.
