The Akademik Ioffe and Akademik Sergey Vavilov were built in 1987 in Finland for the Russian Academy of Science. Designed to navigate in polar waters, the ship has external stabilizers and a built-in trimming system that provides exceptionally stable cruising. All cabins have outside port holes or windows. The ships accommodates about 108 guests.
