TOUR DESCRIPTIONS
   
Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs
Duration: Full Day.
Your vacation in Costa Rica will not be complete without visiting La Fortuna area with its active Arenal Volcano and rainforest. The best way to enjoy this area will be to hike the volcano and to walk around the crater. The most recent lava flow took place in 1992. You may also have the chance to see some of its present activity (depending of weather conditions), plus enjoy the view of the Arenal lake.
 After the hike, enjoy the delicious lunch at the hot springs restaurant. Relax your mind and body in the therapeutic volcanic hot water springs, surrounded by the rain forest and the volcano. The magnificent infrastructure of pools, waterfalls and wet bars will make your visit to these place unforgettable. On the way back to Tamarindo, a dinner will be served at a local restaurant in Tilarán Town.

Buena Vista Mega Combo Adventure:
Duration: Full day.
Description: It is a full day combination tour that includes the canopy tour, hot springs, waterslide, natural spa, and horseback ride. This fun filled day has something for everyone, adrenaline seekers or nature lovers. Come with us and enjoy gliding through the forest during the canopy tour, then slide down the 400 mts (1200 f) water slide, after this two activities, a delicious lunch will give us the energy to ride the horses to get to a beautiful natural spa, at these place you will have the opportunity to soothe your muscles with therapeutic volcanic mud and hot water pools.
What to bring: Swimming suit, warm clothing, hiking or running shoes, sandals, change of clothing, binoculars, camera, sun block, money and hat.

Barra Honda Caves Hike:
Duration: Full day.
Description: A hike in the Barra Honda National Park is mainly famous for its intricately large system of limestone caverns which house a multitude of capricious forms and figures. A reef of rocks formed Barra Honda hill, 300 meters tall, which means old reefs that sunk. The hill was created by tectonic movements 60 million years ago. You can enjoy the caves and observe the flora and fauna of this place, such as coatis, agutis, anteaters and monkeys, and also different species of trees and medical plants.
This hike takes around one hour  and can be somewhat difficult, depending on your physical endurance.
What to bring: hiking or running shoes, binoculars, camera, sun hat.
Includes: Lunch, snacks, bottled water or fruit juice.
 
Canopy Tour:
Duration: Half Day.
Description: What better way to enjoy the tropical dry forest than by gliding through it, feeling as the birds do while they fly over this beautiful landscape, or as the monkeys do when they swing along the tree branches. Several cables will take you through the forest from platform to platform so you can enjoy that different perspective of what the tropical forest has to offer. The adrenaline is supplied by you!
What to bring: Hiking, running shoes or straps sandals, binoculars, sun block, camera and hat.
Included: Bottled water, fruit juice, guides, transportation.
 
White water rafting on Colorado river:  
Duration: Half Day
Description: Beautiful canyons, wildlife, exuberant vegetation, pristine water is what you will find as you raft for two hours down the class 2 & 3 rapids of the Colorado River. After the safety instruction, you will get your two-person raft, at this point the tour leader will give you the option to be accompanied by a guide or have them follow you closely on another raft. Experienced rafters or beginners will enjoy this adventure, as much as the nature lovers of course. Children must be over 9 years old.
What to bring: Swimming suit, hiking or running shoes, sandals, change of clothing, binoculars, camera, sun block, money and hat.
Included: Lunch, water bottle or fruit juice, guides, transportation and full rafting equipment.
  
Horseback Riding Tour:
Duration: 3.5 hours
Description: Riding can be great fun - once you get used to the different saddle, stirrups, and neck-rein steering. Although not strictly necessary, a little equestrian experience will help you since ranch horses are usually rounded up for trail duty. Lessons on how to control your mount and special assistance should be requested (if it is not offered) before setting out on any trail ride.
 
Monteverde Cloud Forest Tour:
Duration: Full Day.
Description: After driving through the wide open and semi-dry scenery of the Pacific low lands, the green and hilly views will start getting your attention, this means we are getting to the clouds forest of Monteverde, where Selvatura Private reserve is situated. Upon arrival here, we have the options of either gliding throughout the cloud forest with the Canopy Tour or something less exciting but very educational walking the trail that is connected with eight hanging bridges above the trees canopy, then you choose between the insects or reptiles exhibition and the Hummingbirds Gallery.
What to bring: Hiking or running shoes, warm clothing, rain poncho, binoculars, camera, sun block, mosquito repellent, sun glasses, hat and money.
Included: Lunch, fresh fruits, water bottle, fruit juice, guides, transportation and the entry for the Selvatura tour.
 
Rincon de la Vieja Guided Hike:
Duration: Full Day.
Description: This is one of the best places in the country for hiking because of the quality of its trails, its great weather and the quantity of fauna and flora. Residual volcanic activity such as boiling mud pools and fumaroles  along with the narrative from our tour guides will make this tour a very unique and special one.
What to bring: Hiking or running shoes, rain poncho, binoculars, camera, sun block, mosquito repellent, sun glasses and hat.
Included: Lunch, water bottle, fruit juice, guide, transportation and entry fees to the park.
  
Estuary and Mangrove Kayak Tour:

Description:
For those who enjoy nature, exploring Tamarindo's estuaries on our kayak tour is a delightful experience. The tour takes you meandering through the slow estuary waters that are shaded by extensive mangroves. Spotting birds, iguanas and the crocodiles basking on the sun-drenched riverbanks are just a few of the highlights!
 Either single or double sit on top ocean kayaks are used on this tour. This is truly a nature lover’s paradise. The expansive quantity of  flora and fauna species, especially the mangrove trees, are the main characteristic of this ecosystem. Using paddles, not motors, will give you the chance to observe the animals without disturbing them.
What to bring: Strap sandals, mosquito repellent, sun block, hat, sun glasses

Special Featured Optonal  Full Day Tour:

Nicaragua One Day Tour.
Duration: Full Day. $159 per person, runs every Tuesday and Thursday, breakfast and lunch included.
Description: Nicaragua is a beautiful country owner of a very rich culture and a history full of proud and difficult memories. Our journey to our northern neighbor starts very early in the morning to avoid lines on the border. On the other side we will stop for a delicious breakfast near of Rivas city. We continue our way to Granada city, one of the first founded cities in America by Europeans, a colorful place, built on Spanish colonial architecture that nowadays still remains. At Granada we visit the most important monuments of the city on a horse drawn, like Spanish used to do it 200 years ago; we will see the main church known as the “Catedral”, “The Plaza de España” which is one of the best view points for the magnificent Nicaragua Lake and many others; we take lunch on a nice restaurant with a historical view.
After lunch we drive towards to Masaya City, a very typical Nicaraguan Town and we visit the active Masaya Volcano and the National park, a natural attraction that we cannot miss on our trip; we finish our stay at Masaya with a visit to the local market when you will have the chance to see the local pottery and pick up a souvenir. We get back to Costa Rica to drop you off at your hotel on the evening.
 
Departure: 5:00am.  Return: 8:30pm.
