Meet our Team

Thom Gilligan, CTC
President and Founder
Thom founded Marathon Tours in 1979 and has been the frontrunner in destination marathon travel ever since. His previous professional experience with British Airways, Air Canada and a tour wholesaler enabled Thom to start a career that combined his knowledge of the travel business with his passions for running and adventure.

Named the top specialist in running-related travel by Condé Nast Traveler magazine for the past nine years, Thom has also been featured in Runner’s World, the front page of The Wall Street Journal and on the cover of Travel Agent magazine.

Thom personally leads groups to marathons in Bermuda, France's Bordeaux region and more including Antarctica where he is the race director and expedition leader for the Antarctica Marathon.

A former president of the Greater Boston Track Club, Thom has run 62 marathons around the world with a personal best of 2:30:42. An avid golfer, he holds a 4 handicap and admits that he is hopelessly addicted.

Kelly Allen

Sales Manager
Kelly found Marathon Tours the day she finished her 5th Boston Marathon.  Some might say she literally ran into us!  With six years of professional experience in international group travel and sales management and a passion for running, she is a great addition to the Marathon Tours team.

A graduate of Bowdoin College, Kelly lettered as a springboard diver. Her spirit of adventure led her to Australia for a semester and she delayed her return to work as a tour coordinator for a travel company that specialized in tours for surfers. Kelly is looking to improve her marathon PR of 3:38.

Kelly currently manages marathon trips for Boston, Easter Island, Outback, and Dublin.

Nicole Langone

Trip Coordinator
Nicole is the newest and shortest member of the Marathon Tours team and joins us with eight years of professional experience in international and domestic group travel and flight management. From middle school age, she has had the travel bug and loved being on the road and exploring new places. With a year abroad and sometimes intentionally getting lost on a quaint cobblestone pathway in Belgium or Germany, it was the true history and beauty that struck a chord within her that keeps her travel passion alive still. She hopes to continue to expand her list of 17 countries visited to destinations such as Australia, Africa and simply...Hawaii! Nicole currently manages marathon trips to Rome, Berlin, Costa Rica and Stockholm.

Ann Haebler

Trip Coordinator
Ann has joined the Marathon Tours team after spending five years working as Group Sales Manager for a domestic tour operator specializing in train travel.  Since her 7th grade world geography class, she has had an interest in learning about all the world has to offer.  During her time majoring in geography at the University of New Hampshire, her love of travel really kicked into high gear after spending a semester abroad in Australia. Let's just stay it was love at first flight!  With her new position she hopes to expand her knowledge of the world.  Ann currently manages marathon trips to Bermuda, Chicago, Paris and Rio.

Jen Ryder
Trip Consultant
Jen joined the Marathon Tour staff in 2011 and previously worked with Team In Training.  Her passion for sports led to a degree in sport management and employment in Minor League Baseball and recreational facility management. Through her employment with Team In Training, Jen gained valuable group travel experience and has traveled to Disney, Dublin, and Honolulu with the charity runners.  She is the trip consultant for the Virgin London, Athens, Istanbul, Stockholm, Antarctica and Run Disney marathons.

Jen is a native of Rhode Island but has called Boston home for the last seven years. A runner as well, Jen has completed six half-marathons, one marathon, and several sprint triathlons.
