Itinerary

 

Wed. March 29 - You should book your airfare to fly out on this day for an overnight flight to Rome (FCO) airport.

 

Thur. March 30 - Arrive Rome and transfer on your own by train, taxi or shuttle to your hotel. Marathon Tours Staff will be at a table in the lobby to welcome you and answer questions in the early afternoon. As this day is free, you may want to visit the expo after you get settled. 

Fri. March 31 - Depart hotel at 9:00 am for a 4 hour guided walking tour of ancient Rome including a visit to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Should you want to visit the expo today, your guides and Marathon Tours staff will explain the best way to get there.

Sat. April 1 - Day free to explore Rome on your own. Perhaps book a Vatican tour on your own. This evening, meet our staff in the lobby to walk to local restaurant for a private pre-race dinner just down the street from your hotel.

Sun. April 2 - Race Day! The starting area of the marathon is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The perfect site for a post-race dinner celebration (at your own expense) is Piazza Navona at one of the many outdoor restaurants.

Mon. April 3 - Guests depart for optional extensions or return flights on an individual basis.

 

OPTIONAL FLORENCE EXTENSION

 

Mon. April 3 - Guests transfer from Rome to Florence by coach. We will stop along the way in Montepulciano for lunch and wine tasting before arriving at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi.

 

Tue. April 4 - Walking tour of Florence with Duomo entrance.

 

Wed. April 5 - Free Day

 

Thur. April 6 - Depart for the airport on your own.
