Paris Marathon Event Information



Date: Sunday, April 9, 2017


Course: Runners will pound the pavement of the city's most famous avenues and plazas, from the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, where the race starts, towards the Place de la Concorde.  From the Rue de Rivoli runners will sweep through the Place de la Bastille. After a glimpse of greenery in the Bois de Vincennes, views of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower come into view.  There are now more than 21,000 international runners in the marathon, comprising 37% of the field.


Weather: Average temperatures range between 65F- 70F. Ideal conditions for running.


Entry: The Paris Marathon had a pre-registration period that was open from April 6th - May 6th where 21,000 entries were secured.  The second phase of registrations opens on September 6, 2016 at 8:00am (local Paris time) through a tiered pricing system ranging from 80 Euros to 115 Euros.  Once the second and third tier entries sell out we will offer guaranteed entry to the marathon.  Marathon Tours offers a guaranteed race entry fee of $TBD. (Entry only is not available.)


Eligibility: All runners must be at least 21 years of age. In 2016 there were 57,000 registered runners. The event has a 5 hour 40 minute time limit to finish the marathon.


Awards: Every runner finishing with the time limit will receive a medal.  Medals are then provided based on availability after the official cut-off time has passed.
