Course: Runners will poound the pavement of the city's most famous avenues and plazas, from the foot of the Arc de Triumphe, where the race starts, towards the Place de la Concorde. Fromo the Rue de Rivoli runners will sweep through the Place de la Bastille. After a glimpse of greenery in the Bois de Vincennes, views of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower come into view. There are now more than 16,00 international runners in the marathon, comprising 35% of the field.
Weather: Average temperatures range between 65F- 70F. Ideal conditions for running.
Entry: The Paris Marathon has a lottery drawing that opened from April 15- May 17 for 22,000 entries. The second phase of registrations opens on September 8, 2015 through a tiered pricing system. Once the second and third tier entries sell out we will offer guaranteed entry to the marathon. Marathon Tours offers a guaranteed race entry fee of $225. (Entry only is not available.)
Eligibility: All runners must be at least 21 years of age. The event is limited to 50,000 runners. There is a 5 hour 40 minute time limit to finish the marathon.
Awards: Every runner finishing under 6:00 receives a medal.
