Why Me - This Worcester-based nonprofit organization has been providing emotional and financial support to families of children with cancer since 1985. Sherry’s House is the organizational home of Why Me, an activity center and residential facility for families whose child is in treatment. The journey to build Sherry’s House began in 1997 and became a community effort is January 2000 when the first Sherry’s House All-Star Team participated in the Bermuda International Marathon. With nearly $820,000 raised so far by team members, Why Me is closing in on their One Million Dollar Goal! All funds raised go towards the direct operating costs of Sherry’s House. It’s a beautiful and child-friendly place where hope can thrive and where families can go to get the support they need to fight childhood cancer together. It’s also a temporary residence for families while their child receives cancer treatment at area hospitals. So take a leap of faith and celebrate the joy of making a positive difference in the lives of children with cancer – become a member of the Sherry’s House All-Star Team!
